DESCRIPTION:
Forestville Manufacturing Co., Bristol, Conn., Circa 1850, 8-day time /strike Iron case with MOP shelf clock.
CONDITION:
iron case with MOP decorations is in clean condition with some small paint loss on the sides and top of the case. Gold decoration is partly obscured by the alligator finish. Original painted dial is worn with some loss. Hour hand looks to be a later replacement, proper size. Ribbed plate movement is signed "Brewster & Ingrahams", one of Brown's suppliers at the time. Mov't clean and running/ striking well. Forestville label is faded and difficult to read. Although these are odd, Chris has seen period advertisements (peddler's books) from Forestville Mfg that included iron fronts. Ht 14"
